What an honor it was to be part of Rihanna’s Diamond Ball! Last year, Rihanna launched the first Diamond Ball, a black tie fundraiser to benefit Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF). CLF is dedicated to improving the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts and culture. Hosted by Kevin Hart, the 2015 Diamond Ball was a huge success.

This star-studded fundraiser was coordinated by Special Occasions Event Planning. We designed and provided furnishings throughout the space along with the incredible florals by Empty Vase. Thank you Kevin Weinstein for capturing the magic!

You Only Live Once! Produced and Designed by Marianne for Special Occasions EventsWhat a night…every detail was considered and coordinated. We love the repeat yellow and black pattern in the overall design. We provided the drapery, tables, chairs, mirrored wall panels and lounge pieces.

Our Gold Venice furniture line was used to design the lounge area. Black yellow and white stripes were painted on mirrors and used as perimeter decor. Yellow Roses and Crystals hung from ribbons as part of the ceiling decor. Below you will also see a close up of the mirrored wall panels with a custom black, yellow and white hand painted design. The seating cards were placed on a mirror front bar that we hand painted with the theme colors for the event. The room was flooded with golden light and our mirror pedestals reflected the colors in the room. Thank you Joan Fuller Photography for these gorgeous photos.

We were recently honored to participate in the design of Rihanna’s first annual Diamond Ball. This black-tie fundraiser benefited the Clara Lionel Foundation. The singer performed with a live orchestra at The Vineyard, a private 157-acre enclave located in Beverly Hills. The Diamond Ball – which also included a dinner and live auction – hosted an estimated 600 guests, “ranging from entertainment and business executives to celebrities and philanthropists.” Coordinated by Special Occasions Events, Empty Vase provided the florals, and lighting by Images by Lighting. From Special Occasions Event Planning, “Perfectly Peach

“For this celebration, we had the pleasure of working at The Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara. With the ocean as the perfect backdrop, we created a chic and stylized lounge for guest to enjoy as they sipped on a specialty cocktail before going inside for dinner.  The design was all about the perfect color combination and of course the flowers!”







From Special Occasions Event Planning

The entrance was transformed to look like a real pub entrance (so much so, that hotel guests thought it was a real pub while we were setting up!), and was finished with a custom hand painted sign with our pub’s name, “Zaxnamara’s Pub.” We brought in a custom bar complete with a  keg of Guinness on tap and a selection of the best of Irish beer and whiskey. We covered the existing walls with wood panels.  The doorways were dressed using hand painted signs of our favorite Irish quotes. We went on several “hunts” at local flea markets, estate sales, and prop houses to find the perfect items and signs to adorn the wood panels.  One of the most unique and authentic items on the wall (and a fun detail for guests to discover throughout the night) were the framed old black and white photos of our client’s actual family members.Pub-Revelry-Event-Designers-SO-Event-Planning-1

Special Occasions Event Planning enlisted us for decor for this super chic graduation party at The Bookbindery. We used the Los Angeles collection for the lounge furniture. The space was softened up with chandeliers and oversized mirrors. A draped cabana was set up for a VIP section.

“Inspired by the dramatic styling of the Hollywood Regency Period, I worked closely with the talented Ashley Coleman and Edgar Zamora of Revelry Event Designers to create a high contrast vision using sharp yellow and glossy black. French windows draped with taupe and canary yellow fabric accented the ballroom. Large mirrors with hand-painted dramatic lines in glossy white, black and sharp yellow created the authentic transformation into the Regency period.”

Los Angeles Opera Season-Opening with Special Occasions Event Planning: We love this time of year for events and Fall marks the opening of the Los Angeles Opera. We were honored to be a part of this historical event with Special Occasions Event Planning. 2013 marks the 28th season! The Los Angeles Opera Season-Opening Gala and premier of CARMEN, conducted by Los Angeles Opera general director Plácido Domingo was celebrated with a Spanish flair.
