As couples are looking for more unique décor elements to add to their ceremonies and receptions, we’re seeing an influx of stylish lounge furniture, decorations that bring the outdoors in, and other elegant details that turn a stylish wedding into an extraordinary event. We dreamed up this garden-inspired wedding lounge styled shoot at our studio.

“To inspire brides desiring garden-inspired nuptials, Edgar Zamora of Revelry Event Designers and Amy Child Marella of The Hidden Garden designed a couple sophisticated lounge spaces that would be perfect for a summer wedding. For the shoot, Zamora created a whimsical and elegant garden reception space inspired by the California landscape. “We wanted to bring the outdoors into our studio and celebrate outdoor summer weddings,” he shares. The result? “An elegant garden wedding reception design with a modern twist using our new ‘Washington’ crystal chandeliers‘Deco’ gold accent furniture, and our ‘Palermo’ furniture collection.” The florals designed by Marella featured bright pops of pinks and reds with natural greens and a sensational ceiling treatment that complemented the green hedge panels surrounding the space.”

What an honor it was to be part of Rihanna’s Diamond Ball! Last year, Rihanna launched the first Diamond Ball, a black tie fundraiser to benefit Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF). CLF is dedicated to improving the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts and culture. Hosted by Kevin Hart, the 2015 Diamond Ball was a huge success.

This star-studded fundraiser was coordinated by Special Occasions Event Planning. We designed and provided furnishings throughout the space along with the incredible florals by Empty Vase. Thank you Kevin Weinstein for capturing the magic!

We were honored when producer RG Live events asked us to be part of the design concept for the re-grand opening of the historic Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. The opening gala received notable press features, including this article from BizBash.

Automobile enthusiasts associate cars with style and elegance—and the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles hosted a gala intended to deepen and develop that connection. The December 6 gala celebrated the museum’s grand reopening, after a 15-month closure for gut renovation and construction. The bash was so substantial that it took three weeks for producer RG Live Events to build it out. Museum director Terry Karges oversaw the production.

The gala took its cues from a variety of elements related to the structure and its contents. First, it drew inspiration from the building’s unique architecture, which includes an unmissable art-like metal ribbon facade. It also borrowed ideas from automotive structures, textures, traditions, and history. Additionally, the event used materials that mimicked elements of automobiles—such as mirrors, chrome, and glass.

Guests entered the event through a clear-top tent, filled with chrome decor, mirrored tabletops, and live entertainment. The 82- by 196-foot structure was installed on the third level of the museum’s parking structure. The entrance to the tent included glass-front panels and three sets of glass doors. Seating including modern chrome dining chairs and mirrored tables provided by Revelry Event DesignersFloral Art designed modern tabletop florals that incorporated round spheres and streamlined boxes, a nod to car design.

“Amber Tyson’s friends were constantly trying to set her up with various bachelors. Despite there being no successful love connections in the past, her friend Sarah convinced her to attend a party, where she was introduced to Joshua Calhoun. The pair turned out to be the perfect match, and Joshua proposed eight months later at their Pasadena home.

With Joshua being the ninth out of thirteen children and Amber being the youngest of four, the wedding planning process soon began to accommodate a vast 700-person guest list with 15 bridesmaids, 15 groomsmen, and 11 flower girls and ring bearers. The Huntington Gardens in Pasadena made the perfect wedding venue, as it could accommodate the largescale celebration, and provided a fantastic backdrop for the wedding design and décor.

The wedding date was set for February 7th, and an enormous tent was constructed to house guests for the cocktails and reception. A wooden walkway and platform were also built in the sculpture garden, in front of the fountain for the ceremony. Since the weather had been so picturesque, they decided to cancel their ceremony tent–which, of course, resulted in rain beginning to fall as guests were being seated for the ceremony. While waiting in a trailer with her sisters and mother, the bride called her groom to join them, as he was worried she would be upset. “I remember looking at my mother and, in that moment, I knew that I would not let her see one bit of distress on my face,” says the bride. “As much time and effort as she had put into this phenomenal wedding, I was not going to let anything put a damper on our mood.”

Thanks to some quick thinking, their wedding planner altered the schedule and instructed guests to head to the cocktail tent, where they enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres first–all, while the crew frantically set up the reception tent to also house the ceremony, relocating the entire orchestra, AV system, and flowers. Once guests had found their seats, the bride and her brother made their way down the makeshift aisle between tables. “As soon as I walked in, everyone was on their feet cheering and giving me high fives,” she says. “I felt like I had just won the championship! The once daunting crowd of 700 felt like our most intimate group of friends and family in our living room.”

The couple were married by a dear family friend, Ambassador Andrew Young, and everyone could feel the energy in the room. It wasn’t until they were standing in front of their guests that they realized neither of them had rehearsed what they were going to say–so they just went with the flow. After a few premature, yet endearing “I do’s,” they finally got it right.

During the wedding planning process, someone had asked them what they wanted their daughter’s wedding to look like, which is a question that stuck in Amber’s mind. After the night came to an end, she and Joshua snuck into the sculpture garden where she said, “Maybe this is what our daughter’s wedding will look like.” The newlyweds are now pregnant with their first child–a baby girl.”

We worked on this fabulous event with Sonia Sharma Events at a private estate. These beautiful images come from Dina Douglass of Adrena Photography. Produced and designed by Sonia Sharma Events, this event called for pristine lounge furniture. Our day bed with a custom white cover was a perfect selection for this sophisticated event. A gorgeous shot in daylight shows off our White and Gold Custom Canopies and our White Ibiza Furniture Collection with gold accent tables provided shade and privacy during cocktails. Custom white and gold linens were designed for the event.

It’s all about the details. The pendants hung in the canopies, with the carved gold trim on a few of the furniture pieces and the lush floral design tie the entire look together. Our custom white and gold bars were placed under the  custom canopies with gold bar backs completing the look. We designed custom linens for the high-top cocktail tables with gold cording and tassels. Gorgeous 5′ floral designs were placed around the estate fountain, which made for a really special environment.
